Darelene FranklinMy writing reflects my passions. A contributor to Kids Ministry Ideas and On Mission, I draw from my experience in children’s ministry and missions. God’s love fuels my fiction, including my first book, Romanian Rhapsody (Barbour Publishing, 2005).

Heartsong Presents readers chose me one of their favorite new romance authors and Romanian Rhapsody as one of their favorite contemporary novels in 2005. My romantic suspense novel, Night Burning, placed third in the Vintage Inspirations contest sponsored by Vintage Romance Publishing. Colorado Christian Writers Conference chose my article, “Beautiful Feet,” as the winning entry in the published author category in 2001; they honored me again in 2003 with a Perseverance Award. I won first and second place in the Colorado Writers Fellowship “Telling Your Story” contest in 2003. Other credits include articles in periodicals as diverse as Devotions, Colorado Mature Lifestyles, Bible Advocate, and The McCurtain Daily Gazette.

I earned a Bachelor of Sacred Music from Northeastern Bible College in 1976, and later completed a Master of Arts in religious education at Southwestern Baptist Seminary. My mother and I live in Englewood, Colorado, with my daughter Jolene nearby. My son, Jaran, resides in Oklahoma. My family recently doubled with the addition of a beautiful daughter-in-law and two granddaughters.
